Your Portfolio Potential - Amazing!

Hello Everyone,

The portfolio construction has begun! This is an awesome book about YOU.  I will have more on this next week and we will continue construction on 1/17.

HOMEWORK Due 1/17:  Review today's handout on LiveBinder and then go to http://www.livebinders.com/ and review the website.  Write a brief description and review of the website - ease of use, your opinion(s) and how you will proceed in creating an "E-Portfolio" - 20 pts.

Patient Rights:  Review this website and print out a copy of the patient's rights:
http://www.calhospital.org/sites/main/files/file-attachments/patientrights_english_1.pdf
Read it over and be ready for discussion and questions about these rights. 10 pts.

Please ask your parents for these items for our next class meeting on 1/17 or go to Staples.  You can also go on Amazon.com!

50 sheet protectors
1 set of 6 or 8 tabs

Make an appointment with your manager, supervisor or MA and get the evaluation turned in to them so they can give it back to you asap!  Sit down with them and explain the form. Signature required.

M.A.'s: From ccbma.org:  Review Guide (blue) and the Practice Quizzes booklet
http://www.ccbma.org/store.html

From Amazon.com (New or Used) - for RN's:  NCLEX and TEAS test prep books

FOR LHS STUDENTS - Please let me know via text if you will be volunteering (in uniform) at one or more of the following events.  THANK YOU in advance to those participating.  You will get a letter or certificate of participation for your PORTFOLIO!

FROM MS. CABADING:

It’s ROP marketing time!
There are some upcoming opportunities to promote ROP programs at Livermore High School.  Please put these dates/times on your calendar.  We would love to have you and/or student ambassadors from your class come to these events to let our LHS community know how great ROP is!
******** Please respond back to me by  Wednesday, January 17 to let me know if you/ students will be able to participate in any of these events.   For some of the events, I have to request tables, so I won’t need names right away – I just need to know whether or not you want your class to be represented.  *********
UPCOMING EVENTS
Thursday, February 1, first 10-15 minutes of 4th period (approx. 12:35pm-12:50pm)
·         NEEDED: LHS students who take your classes and can share their experiences.  We’d like to have a variety of classes represented, so one student per class would be ideal.  Students will need to get permission from their 4thperiod teachers to miss the beginning of class and I will write out a pass asking teachers to excuse their tardiness.
o   Let me know if you have a student who would be willing to speak.  I recognize that we may be limited because the student would need to miss a bit of class to participate.
·         AUDIENCE: LHS administrators/ counselors

Wednesday, February 21, Livermore High School Expo, Event Time: 6pm – 7:30pm – Students needed 5;30pm-7:30pm: tabling event primarily for underclassmen AND parents
·         NEEDED: Teachers/ student ambassadors to field questions about your programs.  I know LHS asks that teachers onsite participate.  If those from off-site classes can come or send students, that would be appreciated.
·         AUDIENCE: Primarily underclassmen.  This is the chance to plant seeds early so that students have ROP in their minds as they plan for their classes.

Wednesday, February 28, Lunch (11:10am-11:45am), ROP Information Fair: tabling event for LHS students in our Quad during lunch
·         NEEDED: Teachers/ student ambassadors to field questions about your programs.
·         AUDIENCE: LHS students
Livermore High School’s annual expo is on Wednesday, February 22 (in the evening).  I need to know by FRIDAY, January 20 if you want a table at the Expo.  Please let me know either way, yes or no.

Thanks for your help!
